The EQA Course will be a 5 week course with one-hour lectures and Q & A from October 17-November 16, 2023. The course will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the first five lecturers at 12pm WAT/10pm AEDT/6am CDT and the last 5 will be at 4pm WAT/2am AEDT/ 10am CDT.

The course contains 10 lectures on various topics of EQA program and addresses important questions including how are EQA samples prepared, why it matters to understand the commutability of EQA samples, how do EQA providers establish target values and analytical performance specifications, what should labs consider when reviewing and interpreting EQA summary reports, what should labs do when there is no sufficient peer data to compare their results, when is an alternative assessment program relevant, and what are the common EQA-related challenges in developing countries. The topics also cover EQA programs in specialty areas including point of care testing, microbiology, hematology, and cytology.
